If a student is found to have in her possession any of the following banned materials or substances she may be disciplined in accordance with Division E of the Education Act, No. 11 of 1997.
a) Electronic equipment, other than devices used directly in the classroom for learning purposes are not to be brought to school. (eg. radios, cd’s, walkman, games etc.)
b) The use of cellular phones during school time is strictly prohibited or forbidden
c) Students are not allowed to use mobile telephones during classes/while on the school compound or during any supervised school activity.
d) Any student found using a mobile telephone during school, on the school compound or during a supervised school activity is liable to have that telephone confiscated.
e) ON NO ACCOUNT will mobile telephones be allowed on the school compound in the possession of persons sitting or writing examinations including the conduct of major examinations such as the National Assessment.
f) Students who are in breach of these regulations are liable to have their mobile phones confiscated by school authorities.
Once confiscated, mobile telephones will be clearly labeled for identification, the confiscation recorded along with other relevant details and the phones stored for safekeeping. The phone shall be returned to the parent/guardian on payment of a storage fee in the sum of $10.00. A repeat of violation will result in a suspension of five (5) days and/or confiscation up to the end of the term.
ALCOHOL AND DRUGS
The possession and/or use of any alcoholic beverage, cigarettes, marijuana, or any controlled substance while under the authority of the principal is strictly forbidden. Failure to comply will result in immediate suspension and may also result in expulsion
The possession and/or use of any type of weapon eg. Knives, blades while under the authority of the principal is strictly forbidden. Failure to comply will result in immediate suspension and may also result in expulsion.
The possession of any type of pornographic material (including written material by the student) while under the authority of the principal is strictly forbidden. Failure to comply will result in an immediate suspension.
